A mix of glamour and competition, mundane pleasures and down to earth local pride, this is the Mitteleuropean Race, the classic car competition that takes place from Sistiana Bay / Porto Piccolo to the heart of the Collio hills, along a spectacular circuit with beautiful views.
Main sponsor of the 2016 edition, Jermann hosted all the competitors that reached Ruttars following the circuit among the vine-clad hills. An unprecedented leg of the competition that allowed the lucky guests to discover where some of the most celebrated Italian wines come from. Once the engines were stopped, the competitors were surprised, not only by the genuine, clean air of a winery that has rightfully become part of the history of international viticulture, but also for the spectacular views of the quiet vineyards surrounding the winery and for the winery itself in terms of architecture that respects the environment. The Jermann winery in Ruttars was built in 2007 following cutting-edge sustainable principles, and immediately was awarded the CasaClima Sustainability Certification. The complex stands as a symbol of Silvio Jermann’s commitment to the environment which also translates into the Jermann BJO line products.
The racers enjoyed both a great wine tasting experience and a genuine insight of unspoilt territory. Indeed, learning about a great wine and meeting the winemaker means enjoying a deeper emotional experience than that given by the senses alone.
