Two lives amid the vines

Two lives amid the vines

The life story of the Jermann winemakers is an example of a uniquely creative, vibrant and enthusiastic attitude towards wine growing and wine in general. This page was written for the 69th wedding anniversary of Angelo and Bruna, the precious custodians of the wisdom they have passed down to their children Sylvio and Marcella.

“It was exactly four years ago!” Celebrating the 65th anniversary

“The 23rd of April 2018 is a very special day, just like that of the extraordinary celebration for the 65th wedding anniversary of my mom Bruna and my dad Angelo, on the 23rd of April 2014. The lives of two people and “an allegiance with the Lord” who has blessed them with great gifts, and will continue for many years to come. The story of their lives has taught me a remarkable lesson: to keep on going forward in the good times and in the bad times, in good fortune and when things don’t turn out the way we wanted. We will be able to proudly say “I made it!” and our hearts will be filled with passion and drive”. Angelo and Bruna  have been beacons of stability and security in these times of uncertainty, when we need people who with their example illuminate the way for others. Four years ago, after the Mass we celebrated together that day, in the quiet atmosphere of the church I thought back to the path that led my parents from Biljana in Slovenia to Farra d’Isonzo. As I was shaking hands with the brothers at Sveta Gora in Slovenia, the Marian shrine overlooking Gorizia down below in the plains, I felt the urge of sharing my childhood memory of the Easter celebrations. My parents would take my sister Marcella and me to the Marian shrine of Castelmonte, for Confession and then for Easter Mass. This sweet memory led me to invite all the mothers that were present at the celebration to bring their children to Castelmonte offering them an important spiritual experience in times when we tend to seek for “gurus” in faraway Indian temples without realizing that we can find comfort and peace in the monasteries nearby. Also for this, I have to say THANK YOU to Bruna and Angelo. Who belongs the Catholic Church knows that on Sundays and on Wednesdays you pray the rosary: on Sunday 31st August 2014 we celebrated Angelo’s 90th birthday, and on Wednesday 23rd April the 65 years of matrimony to his beloved Bruna. Now their 69th wedding anniversary is an icon of a whole life together! My deepest wish is that the spirit of joy of this important day invades my mom and dad, and gifts them, and all of us, with serenity.”
